Mix through external preamp,
I've been trying to figure out a way to run my final mixes out of my Digi 003 through my Joe Meek twinq, but I've had no luck.
I'm new to routing things back and forth so if someone could give me a pretty dumbed down description of what to do that would be really appreciated. I'm going to have to do it as analog since the joemeek causes quite a bit of problems via spdif. |

Re: Mix through external preamp,
You'd just have to record it to something else, like a dat recorder or standalone cd-burner. BUT make sure your monitoring chain is set up in such a fashion as you can actually HEAR the effect the Meek is having on the mix.
Isn't there a software (plug-in) alternative??? |

Re: Mix through external preamp,
I'm sure there is a way to send it through the meek and back again onto new tracks in the session, that's the easiest way to work for me. I used to be able to do this in Nuendo when I worked on that, but Pro tools seems a bit more confusing as I'm just not understanding the aux routing from the digi 003.
There are plugins for everything, but my intentions are simply just to use the unit as I really like the sound of it over any of the plugins I have right now. |

Re: Mix through external preamp,
You need to insert a hardware loop on your master channel.
Basically you need to use the outputs that correspond to the inputs you have the TwinQ plugged into. So if you have the TwinQ coming into inputs 5&6 (for example), you need to point one of your master channel inserts to outputs 5&6 (not buss 5&6), then the signal will out through the TwinQ and back in again to continued on through any other plugins you have inserted on the master. Does this make sense?
