Pro Tools 12.5 on OS 10.8.5?

Seems like Avid has dropped support for 10.8.5 in Pro Tools 12.5 according to the systems requirements:

System Requirements and Compatibility with Pro Tools 12.5 Software (more info)
Mac OS X 10.11-10.11.3 (El Capitan), 10.10.3-10.10.5 (Yosemite), 10.9.5 (Mavericks)

There is a difference between no support and does not work. Anyone tried installing Pro Tools HD 12.5 on 10.8.5? I will try myself next week, just asking if anyone has tried yet and can share some experience.

First launch caused a kernel panic and a reboot. Since that inauspicious beginning, it's been working really well. Gonna add more plug-ins back in my plugin folder and see what happens. Really needed this update to fix the noise bless issue so it's a serious bummer that they're not supporting 10.8 anymore. So much for my support plan. I really don't want to move up from Mountain Lion on my Westmere six core. Not even sure what I would upgrade to since El Capitan is not really working great and Mavericks was terrible so I guess that means Yosemite? Pretty loathe to do that.

Thanks JFreak. Gonna stick with 10.8 as long as I can. Any other benefits to El Cap? Only issue I'm having so far is that Reverberate isn't loading. Kicking up a -300020 error. Will let the dev know.

So I've upgraded to 10.10.5 and my plugin issues are solved. Reverberate works. RX3 works. And my computer is much zipper and I think PT's CPU usage is down about 30%.

Not messing with El Cap due to all the complaints I've seems. Clean install of Yosemite is great so far.

Benny, were you using any sort of Boot Camp when you upgraded, and did it affect the PC side at all? That's the main concern for my reluctance in updating the OS...

Same here. El Capitan is working for many but there are still far too many issues being reported. Not worth the risk when Yosemite is solid.
