Does PT9 crossgrade replace PT8 on iLok?

I'm still working on a session in PT8 on a G5. I want to know what happens to the license for 8 on my iLok once I install 9 on my new iMac. Will I be able to use 8 on my G5, then slowly migrate to using 9 on my iMac? Obviously I don't mean simultaneous operation

I'm worried that the license disappears and my G5 with PT8 will be unusable. I've done as much digging as I can and I haven't found a concise answer to my question. A part of me wishes I would've just bought a full PT9 pack so I could sell my G5 with the PT8 license and just use a new iLok for the new comp. Oh well!

You surrender your PT8 (M-powered) license when you download and activate you PT9 upgrade.

You don't surrender your PT8 when you upgrade to PT9

The PT 8 license will part of the PT bundle.

Protools 8LE is a serial code so there is no ilok asset for Protools 8LE.

It looks like he has M-Powered, so he does have an Ilok license for that. I'm not sure what happens in that situation.

I'm pretty sure that the PT8 asset gets surrendered.

You are better off getting an mbox mini and crossgrade from sweetwater. If you are in college it will cost you $320 and if not $445 eithet way not to much more than the mpowered crossgrade i also suggest maybe another ilok but thats probably not necessary.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm gonna wait for this last project to finish up before I install PT9. I just don't wanna go through the hassle of getting drumagog 4 and melodyne to operate exactly the same as the way they are in the current session. Unless someone here tells me how I can make it a seamless transition ;-)
