Default Favorite Productions

Hello everybody.

Thought I'd start a new thread that could pull some attention away from our problems.

Name one or some of your favorite productions for testing out your system/monitors and why.

Of course this does'nt necessarily have to be a favorite album or artist.

My studio also forms the heart of my home theatre. Seems to make sense to use high end monitors for home entertainment Sure sounds much better than your average 5.1 HiFi store package. As for needing special 'home theatre' speakers for movies, well........ Complete BS, IMHO.

Recently, I hired the DVD of The Eagles, Hell Freezes Over live and was completely blown away by the audio quality of the Linear PCM audio. I spent quite a bit on a decent DVD player and this disc really makes good use of its D/A conversion.
Even if you don't like the Eagles, it is worth a listen just for the sound quality. One of the best live recordings I have heard.
FWIW, the picture quality is also very clean on the PAL version of this DVD. Looks great blown up to 3 metres wide.

Storyville - "A piece of your soul"
Produced, Recorded and Mixed by David Z. for Supersonic Productions
Mastered by George Marino at Sterling.

This album is Stevie Ray Vaughn's rhythm section with new guitarists and singer. It is not only my favorite album of all time, I use it to get references because it sounds beautiful and I've heard it exactly 7,866 times. Please go buy it if you don't have it. They have other albums but they are not as good (still excellent though).
