Student upgrades were free. Sounds like an academic/institution license.

Academic upgrade. As Bruce said there are different ways to upgrade to PT11 at varying costs.

Second useless message I've seen from you directed at me...

Please send me your mailing address so I can send you a quarter.

That should be more than enough for you to buy a better life than the one you obviously have if you spend your time chasing me around the DUC...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

You think this the wrong way.

AVID has a product that is supposed to upgrade your existing CPTK license to PT11HD license and it does not matter what PT version it (the CPTK that is being upgraded) comes with.

Point being upgrading CPTK to HD, so same price for any PT version.

But that's not what's happening. The product is Pro Tools 11+HD features, just as we have Pro Tools 10+CPTK. The upgrade from Pro Tools 10 to Pro Tools 11 is $300, and the upgrade to HD is $300, so combined you have the $600. This is backed up by the fact that Pro Tools 9 users with the CPTK would have to pay a premium to get to Pro Tools HD11 (which I believe Bruce said was $1000). If you break that price down it is just slightly higher than what a user who has stayed up to date would have paid ($300 upgrade from 9 to 10+$300 upgrade from 10 to 11+$300 upgrade to HD), equating to a $100 penalty for not remaining up to date. If what you said was true, it would cost the same to get to Pro Tools HD11 from 9 as it does from 10, but it does not, therefore it would make sense to remove the upgrade cost from those whom already upgraded to 11, just as the upgrade cost for 9 to 10 was removed.

What you are saying here does not make any sense. In the Avid store the price for Pro Tools 11 HD Upgrade From PT 9/10 + CPTK varies from $599 to $999 depending on what PT version you have...

PT9 + CPTK to PTHD11 - $999

PT10 + CPTK to PTHD11 - $599

PT9/10 + CPTK to PTHD11 - $599

Remember that the PT9/10 bundle is the same you get when upgraded from 8 or 9 to PT10 as the bundle for PT10 includes PT9 aswell so it is not the same..
