Losing ability to type in PT dialog boxes

Ahh almost forgot this one....
I keep losing my keyboard. Literally cannot type in anywhere in PT. Still works fine, but can't type. Have to close and reopen to regain it. Weird.

Created a new thread out of this since the original thread seems to be focused on the errors created while trying to edit/fade during playback.
I've had this come up a lot since going to 7.4, although I can't say that it's brand new in 7.4. e.g. Initiate a bounce, dialogue box comes up to name file, but unable to type or edit text in the box. Mouse still works fine, able to cancel out, but have to quit PT in order to type again.

I used to get this every day on my Old G4 1.42 system. Now that I have moved to an Octo Mac Pro I haven't had this happen yet. I have the same plugins on the new machine as the old one. Makes me wonder if this will not happen on an intel machine? Anyone using an intel machine and getting this? I would assume that Digi only uses newer machines when testing now?

This bug has been around forever. The keyboard stops responding requiring a restart to type in the input fields. It's never been addressed to my knowledge. Not even recognized as being a bug when it has been around for what ... 3 builds of PT now? I digress. The way I figure that reboot is making me money what do I care if the [bleep] works or not.

Well, reboots don't make ME any money! The just waste a lot of time . . . and can be pretty embarassing when you've got people in the room and you're in a flow. . . .
Regardless, doesn't seem to require a reboot for me. Just quit PT, (delete databases/volumes. . .for good measure. . . again. . . ) and restart protools. Glad I'm not alone with this, but would be nice to have some kind of acknowledgement from Digi.

We are definitely aware of the issue and are investigating the cause. Currently, without a solidly reproducible case, we are unable to determine exactly the cause. We have some leads and are looking into those, but I don't know exactly when this may be solved. We're hopeful that the last lead we got is solid - I'll definitely post (I have all the threads where people talk about having this problem) as soon as I have any specific info on a fix.

Thank you Digi. I have had this issue for well over a year, and it would be nice to have it fixed.

I had this same problem the other day. 1st time in a while its happened. In fact it was happening every few minutes. Oddly enough when I unmounted the drive and worked on some other sessions it went away. Went back to that same drive a few days later and no problem. Has not happened since.
