Default Does a procontol work with a non HD system?

I've been seeing a few pro controls up for sale and I was wondering if I could use it with my Native system, I'm running protools 10 with my 003+ Factory.

it does but you may need the profile file from an HD system but being the same installer now you may not

personally I don't like the PC, monitor section is honorable, channel strips are overly wide for what they do

but if it works for you have at it

I love the Pro Control, I do agree that the channel strips are too far apart, apart from that I enjoy it way more than the Control 24 when I used it.

Yes, PT10 installer is the same HD or Native (vanilla) so the controller files are installed.
I run a Pro Control in my home rig but I've never used the monitor system. It's probably no worse than an 003.

The channel strips are 1.5 inches wide the same as an analogue console which was the point. Coming off analogue desks it's more comfortable and same when on an Icon.
The PC will not work with PT11 but if you don't care about that they can be had cheap and certainly better than mouse mixing.

PCs predate the 001, they are known not to track evenly between the Left & Right channels of the Volume Control

Now that you mention it I recall the complaints about the monitor section sounding really really bad and Digi trying to fix the monitor pot tracking but it still sounded like dirt. I always used third party monitor controller so never had the pleasure. I take back what I said about the PC being no worse than the 003. We still have an 003 console and an 003R and they're ok.
