Default Choosing the right tablet for S1

Hi all,

We are purchasing 3 S1s and need to choose a tablet model for each of these units.

Due to security reasons, the network in mix rooms are not facing the internet, thus making it impossible to pair the tablets via WiFi. Ideally, the tablet would allow us to use PoE. Also, we are running Mac systems, but if there are no compatibility issues, we are open to running Android tablets.

After looking at the qualified mobile devices list (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/f...ontrol-Support), we realize we have many options and we wonder if any of you have found a tablet that sits well, works smoothly and looks great.

Thanks all!

Are there any tablets that are PoE?

I have a dock and 2 S1s. I'm using Amazon HD10s on the S1s which are great for the price. They're working well. They don't line up nicely with the meters but this hasn't been an issue for me at all. The only one that will is the 12 inch iPad pro which just looked too big for me.I have a 10.5 inch iPad Pro which fits perfectly in landscape mode

I'm using the Galaxy Tab A 10,5" . Works great with the S1.

the design of the S1 is mainly build to handle 12" tablets but that leaves only the Ipad Pro for the moment, which is expensive for use just as a meterbridge.

You'll need a WiFi network which isn't connected to the internet.Make sure that WiFi network is on the same range as your computer !

I use this at home for my EUCON network. It has 8 Ethernet ports and 3 wifi channels...you can spread the tablets out onto each band. TP-Link Router

Just curious. When I look at the avid S1 tablet guide it says the Fire HD10 is only in portrait mode. Do you have yours mounted in landscape or portrait? Any issues with it in Landscape mode and mounting?

Thanks,

This is only for the Dock, its too wide in Landscape. Looks great in Landscape on the S1...I have one.
