Default When Pro Tools LE for XP?

I'm just curious when you guys think Pro Tools LE for Windows XP will be released. Are we weeks, months, years away?

Thanks,
Ron

We are very close. For now make some music on your 98/ME install.

just got this email from Digi a few days ago, should be here any day now

"Thanks for your email! When Windows XP support becomes available (which should be VERY soon) the drivers will be furnished as a free download from our website. Stay tuned - you should not have to wait much longer!

Remember when PT Free was announced? And they actually posted an exact date?

They had this count down to the release date on their Website. It counted down to 1 day and then stayed there for about two weeks! It was funnier than hell!

Oh sorry, you were asking about XP... My bad!

Yea, I remember staying up late one night waiting for FREE, but that didn't happen to work out so well.

Digi isn't like some of these other companies about releasing things on a countdown date are they. Think how terrible the MMORPGs (if you play that type of thing in your spare time, I used to..) would be if they would have their servers up 'some day soon' or 'in may' instead of 'UO will be released Jan 1, 1999 at midnight that morning.'

Just a thought, somehow other companies manage, but then again other companies have ALOT more bugs (ever played a MMORPG?)

Oh, yea, a little bird also told me that they will (in all likelyhood) not miss june, so it's this month. They will have Quicktime, and DirectConnect, as well as of course XP support. 32 tracks can neither be confirmed NOR denied, so in my mind that means that they are THINKING about it (not that it takes alot of different programming to change a single CONST). I am guessing that they are thinking of it for marketing reasons, but they know that they will have to put out a Mac patch for 32 tracks at the same time. So, there MIGHT be 32 tracks, but probably not, but some people at the company think its a good idea in my opinion, otherwise they would be able to say that they ARENT for sure doing it.

That's just my 2c.
