I stopped using normalize for a while for the very same reasons. Never worked 100% fine.

I hate to use it too. Many of my colleagues used it, and always push me to check out the behavior of it, never worked 100% right. I've stopped using it years ago, and suggested the same for them, but for some reason some of them loves it... :)

For me the normalize audiosuite has never worked properly; especially not, when batch processing in the "region by region mode"
it used to be better.
i still keep a tiger partition with 7.4
just to use that feature occasionally.

Digi, any word on this? The negative impact on my editing this has caused is simply no longer tolerable.

Can we anticipate a fix soon?

I've not had the issue since I updated to 10.0.1 - that's not to say the fix is in the update, but since Sunday, I've been OK.

Well, the problem has arrived once again....so the 10.0.1 update didn't fix it. How Avid didn't include a fix is beyond me.

Seriously,
normalize has never worked properly, and I doubt that Avid will introduce a fix, as they haven't for decades. The same way I don't expect Avid ever to introduce folders in the bin.

Jeez! 10.3.5 & still getting this! Anything I normalize clips unless I set normalize to 99.9%. Gain seems to work fine for me.
