Default Digi002R monitor level knob creates clipping/digitial distortion when adjusted

If you turn the monitor level knob too fast, you will get a horrible digital pop/distortion making the output useless. Is this a known issue? Any idea what this could be?

Its probably a worn out pot(it is about 12 years old). If you are on PT9 or up, this could be a good excuse to buy a new interface. Or it might be a good reason to add a monitor/source selector to your setup(leave the 002R knob wide open and use the controller's volume). I added a Presonus central station to my setup 10 years ago and would be lost without it

I'm not sure if that's it.. It's done it since day 1. I feel like it's something to do with firewire throughput, maybe the port/card is failing. It doesn't sound like a scratchy pot. It sounds like digital distortion.

There is a second set of outputs that you could use, but they have no volume control(adding a box like the central station would solve that). Given how old the unit is, it's not likely to be worth the cost of repairing. Maybe pick up a newer 003rack as they are now in the $200-250 price range.

Not ready to buy a new interface, everything else works fine, I'm already using the main outs and am aware of all that, but I am looking to see if there is a fix for this unit.
