Plugin/Insert application
Greetings. Pretty new to PT 12.5 but am wondering what kind of procedure to use to apply a plugin/insert to only a portion of a track. Say I have a 10 minute guitar track but only want to apply some reverb to a 2 minute portion of the track. Do I need to make a sub track or something? Thanks much...

You would likely do it by: 1) sending the guitar track to aux track where you have your reverb and automating either the send levels or the aux output 2) insert a reverb plugin to the guitar track and automate "mix" parameter from where you want it to start and end

Re: Plugin/Insert application
Of course, if you want to commit to that process at that time

Re: Plugin/Insert application
One thing I learned with AS is to first duplicate the audio track. That way if I don't like what the effect did I still have the original audio to go back to. And if everything worked out I then delete the duplicate.

Thanks folks, got it figured out. The track duplication is a great safeguard...
