Major 12.8 output assignment bug -- confirmed by Avid

My issue seems directly related. I have multiple tracks in my tv mixing template that have multiple outputs. While I was updating my template in 12.8 with more multiple output assignments I crashed. I would re-open and my outputs would be gone, I would go to re-import from my session file backups and they wouldn't be there either. Big issue. I can't remember which version but ProTools had this same bug before with assigning multiple outputs. I submitted a case to Avid and they couldn't create. I'll try and document in some way but it might be hard to do so.

Do you guys just mean that when you try to assign them to multiple tracks it doesn't work, but you CAN still assign what you want if you do it track by track?

I have V12.8 here, and 8 tracks being assigned in one hit using the shortcut, to bus 1/2, and then 4 to bus 3/4, worked. Also holding just alt down assigns the whole project to whatever bus chosen or back to the master, but shift fine tunes it to only work with the selected tracks.

I am having other crazy bugs with 12.8 but i'll start another topic for that.

Anyway a video of this would have been ideal.

hey sorry I totally forgot about this thread.... I can't send you a session because I downgraded to 12.7.1 and can't afford to take a chance with 12.8 again... I've had so many problems with this setup that now it's kinda working I don't want to upset it... hope you figure it out :)

Are you saying that selecting and trying to assign multiple tracks simultaneously to a bus is giving you issues. IS that it?

Sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't.
It sometimes appears to me when I am just selecting and deselecting outputs.
The bug is there, no way to denied.

I am using HDX with Yosemite.
