Default Re: USB Cable without A ferrite Core

Yes, I tried another USB cable.
I'm running Pro Tools 11.1.2 on OS X 10.9.1.
Yes, It did work before.
Yes, I have the latest driver.
No, I haven't tried the editor.

I think it has something to do with Playback Engine.
If the Playback Engine is set 1024 Samples and all the Host Engine boxed are checked, it's playing this awful distorted sound.
If set anything lower than 1024 Sample and the Ignore Errors... box unchecked, it's playing no sound at all.

Thanks, junkgear!

Mr. Gin

You really need to post more info...I would guess a gain staging issue. Possibly a thruput issue with an under performing hard drive (need to set buffer @1024) but again all these issues are guesses b/c we don't know the specs of the computer your using.

ELEVNRCK is fine in standalone - well that's good b/c it rules that out......anyway. CraigF has a link in his signature that says "Help us Help you"...Click it and give it a read.......

Computer model and processor speed: MacBook Pro, Mid-2009, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz

OS version: OS X 10.9.1

Avid hardware model: Eleven Rack 2.0.1

Pro Tools version: 11.1.2

Amount of RAM installed: 8GB

At 1024 with all the boxes checked it sounds distorted.
Any other setting won't play anything.

Thanks, YYR123

whoa..... Core 2 Duo's are not supposed to be 10.9 compatible.....

are you sure you didn't hack it? (its fine but that might indicate a problem)

do you own or have access to another computer? I would say 10.8 or win7 and try it out.

Does it sound like that via the standalone editor? I am assuming you have already loaded the driver software for the eleven rack on your mac right?

So you didn't answer the question about a pre recorded loop........Does the audio or loop play back fine?

There have been some issues with Avid drivers running on Core Duo systems under Mavericks, although I've never heard of it affecting the 11R.
The issue sounds the same though; no sound or distorted sound.

When you said that this worked before, was it working on 10.9 or were you on a different version of OSX?

Core 2 Duo is not compatible with OS X10.9? Are you sure?
No, I didn't hack it.
No, I only have this one, so I guess I might have to downgrade it to OS X 10.8, but I have to be sure.
I didn't answer the question about a pre-recorded loop, because you never asked me.
Thanks, YYR123.

That might be it, then.
I worked fine on OS X 10.8.
Should I downgrade it?
Oh, God...

It's set to Internal as I don't have any other thing hooked up.
Thank, christophersad.
