Help wanted: upgrading old ProTools system
Hello
I have an old ProTools 4.2 system, running on a Mac 8500/120 with a 888 I/O interface. Yes, I know this is stoneage... My question is where to start if I want to upgrade this system? At least the cards are PCI, so it should be possible to use them on newer MAC's, but I've had no luck when trying to install the cards in my G3 or G4 Macs. Would it be cheaper to upgrade the processor in the 8500 than to upgrade the ProTools system? Any pointers would be helpfull. With regards, ReelTimer |

Re: Help wanted: upgrading old ProTools system
I don't think ProTools 4.3 will run on a G4
If you upgrade to a Mac with OS 9, you should use ProTools 5.x. ProTools 6 require OS X 10.2.6. JC |

Re: Help wanted: upgrading old ProTools system
Ok, I will correct you. It has PCI slots. More specs are here.
