Taking ALL the steps would include posting a sandra report so we know something, ANYTHING, about your system....

He's right, we don't even know what version of Pro Tools you are running or the OS you are running it on.

Also, what interface are you using.

Move everything to an external firewire drive and run it from there.

A solution to be sure, but over-simplified. If it's a laptop, yes, but there's critical components that have to be in place for that to work correctly. If it's a desktop, internal is much less complicated. But again, with NO system info, it's hard to say what the solution is going to be.

Try "Save copy in" and include audio. Then open the copy.

This helped me today when I had my first 9073 ever.

Exclamation Re: Pro tools Error (9073)

hi. i'm experiencing a similar error "DAE can't get audio from the drive fast enough. Your driver may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwidth or CPU load. (-9073)" Oddly, my error didn't appear during recording *knocks on wood* but during audio playback from an imported Quicktime movie. I've recorded and played back audio from my new external firewire (Seagate FreeAgent Desk External 1TB drive) with success; therefore, i've assumed the cables and firewire ports are acceptable. in the movie audio, I hear static for a second then the error message appears. any ideas on how to fix this? i tried deleting the digidesign temp folders as suggested in the general win faq and deleting the silent beginning of the audio track. i also moved the cursor to a higher audio traffic area with the same static result. I'm very open to suggestions; your aid will be greatly appreciated
Computer: Dell Dimension 9100 (add'l firewire ports installed, 2.5GB RAM) running WinXP-home edition. I'm running Pro Tools M-powered educational, currently upgraded to 8.0.3 through an m-audio firewire 410.
