Is there an elegant way of selling Pro Tools HD license?

I read that Pro Tools HD licenses can't be transferred to another account.
Is that really the case?
Is the license really permanently attached to a specific person or a company?

For the last few years, it's been tied to the original core card it came with, so it could only be transferred with the hardware.

Now with this new unbundling of new software, I'm really hoping they let existing licenses be separated again, as that would make things way easier.

Any word on this, Jeffro?

I believe the license is permanently attached to an ilok account and an AVID account. Sadly I do believe that is the way they want it and the surprise would be if they ever changed. Today the only way to "sell" it and have the new owner be able to update is to give the new owner both the AVID account and the ilok account. Still they have to masquerade as the original owner but it would work.

I hope they un-tie it from their hardware, and allow us to use our own, like they did with LE.

... uhm .. They already did that. All over the web but HD will be very expensive.
