Default pro tools 8, can we now see the waveforms correctly???

the new playlist lanes look cool, but did digi fix the problem with the waveform views???? I really hate having to recalculate every one while editing.

new stuff is great, but don't you think that fixing current bugs is more important?

The bug may not be a DIGI problem as I have never seen it on my system. Maybe its a driver issue with your video card?

hey albee, the only time i have gotten this is while tracking at least 4 tracks or more at a hw buffer setting of 64. not quite sure what causes it but many seem to have this problem. not a session stopper in anyway, just annoying.

I have switched video cards and still get bad waveforms. I also have problems with Waves plug inns - sometimes part of them show up black...I can close and reopen them and they come back, and sometimes with various waves pluginns open, my volume faders in pro tools freeze up and cannot be moved until I close the waves plug inns???? I submitted this to the Waves Q&A department months ago, but no response.

I am ordering all new computer parts next week so I figure I will probably get a new set of issues along with a new box build!!!!!!

it is always an adventure....today's is hooking up a frontier designs transport I bought from a friend yesterday...wish me luck>

i use very little waves stuff, the problem others have is while tracking the waveforms are not correct, wrong on timeline or not there at all, but plays back fine. recalculate and is fine, but only does this when tracking. never heard of the prob you have??

I didn't even know that there was a waveform problem, ya it might be something with your system.

My waveform view appears to be accurate to me.

its a very sparatic problem that happens rarely for most people. had it a couple times back in the 6. days and maybe 2x's during this 7 era, only when tracking at 64. does not bother me, but has been posts and threads about this dating back for years now.

Its a head scratcher for sure. I use ezdrummer and since I updated it, if I switch kits, the picture of the kit goes nuts(looks like 2 pictures laid over each other) but if I click the plugin window closed and then back open, it comes up correct.

Yes, the waveform issue is fixed (pending some additional testing) and we're hoping to be able to roll it into a cs release at some point...
