Pro Tools HD

Hi All,

I am thinking about a pro tool setup and hope some of you guys and girls can help ...

I have in mind a purchase from E.ay as disti pricing is CRAZY!

My shopping list

1: DIGIDESIGN HD ACCEL PCI-E PROCESS CARD FOR PRO TOOL
2: DIGIDESIGN MIDI INTERFACE FOR PRO TOOLS HD protools
3: DIGIDESIGN 192 Analogue I/O for Pro Tools HD

All of these parts are new, however where do I get the software and key to use them, if they don't come with the hardware? Will DIGIDESIGN honour warranty and support me even after purchasing indirectly from a non disti?

I can easily sort a computer to run the kit.

Also what happens if I purchase from a US supplier/digidesign partner, I don't see why I should be penalised for living in UK Has anyone done this and incurred import tax?

Any help with be much appreciated!

You can transfer ownership with the ‘Transfer of ownership form’, I don’t think this will transfer a warranty though...

I bought my HD from the US & had it shipped to the UK, I did have to pay a fair old bit of import duty, but it was still WAY cheaper than buying from the UK...

Thanks for the reply. What did customs class your HD board as?

Everything has VAT included but sometimes thinks have no extra levy

Like Audio Mixer/Desktop PC/Digital Cameras etc etc

How much % wise did they get you for?

I honestly cant remember, I am guessing it was around 21.5% of the total price...
