mp3 export problem

i'm having a problem exporting files as mp3s... the message i get states
"The MP3 option cannot be enabled because: the "Codecs" folder could not be found within the "DAE" folder."
the only solution on answerbase regarding this message says that
"If you have moved the pro tools application out of the pro tools folder and are launching Pro Tools from this new location (most likely moved to the desktop) you will get this error when attempting to do a Bounce.
If you would like to have a alias of the Pro Tools Application on your desktop you must create an alias first then drag the alias to the desktop"
i launched pt from mac HD/applications/digidesign/protools/protools [6.1] (as well as creating an alias before moving it to the dock, but still recieved the same message in both cases.

if anyone has any ideas or knows a solution it would be GREATLY appreciated

Go to the library folder open it...then to application support folder open it...then to Digidesign folder open it. In the plug-ins folder look and see if your codecs folder is in it. If not, pull out your 6.0 C.D. open it up and look for the codecs folder on their, then just drag and drop it in the plug-ins folder on your hard drive.Re-boot.
