Default Windows 10 and PT 12?

I heard PT 12 is not compatible with Windows 10 x64. Is this true?

Just wondering since the Windows 10 free update is almost over. Waiting to upgrade do to PT 12 will cost about $150 USD. Only a couple weeks left on the free Windows 10 update.

Thanks
Kevin

It isn't officially supported, but working fine here. If you make money with Pro Tools, I'd wait until it is supported.

As JoelG mentioned, PT12 is not officially qualified for use with Windows 10. So it may or may not work well for most configurations. As some would say, "YMMV". However, if you'd still like to try it, then be sure that you've got the latest drivers installed for your audio interface.

The free Windows 10 upgrade is available through July 29, 2016. The redemption period for the free upgrade is 1-year from the official release date, which was July 29, 2015. HTH!

I've been asking this question in the Windows forum with the same stock answer " windows 10 " is not supported
Now I really like to see Avid give us some feedback at least, all you get is don't use it,perhaps we are testing, but not even that, new systems are not shipping with Win 7 or 8

"Not supported" does not always mean it won't work. I have Win10/PT12.3/Mbox 2 Pro working here on a backup system, and have had SOME success with it on my HDN rig(but not to the point where I will use it with clients). As with any upgrade, have a backup plan!

I upgraded to Win10 3 weeks ago. there's no big difference in performance comparing to Win7, i notice however sometimes I get occasional pop/click, i suspect is has something to do with drivers. Most of them aren't officially win10 drivers, but so far so good. I cant complain

If you have some time to get things setup properly it should run just fine, if it's your main system I would hold off just until it has been more widely tested.
I wonder how long it will take for 10 to be "supported"? I would think a year would be long enough even for Avid.

A year is about par for the course with Avid for an op sys. I've been running W 10, PT's 12.3.1 for a while now (only about a week or two with PT 12.3.1, longer with 12.2.1), and haven't noticed anything unusually unusual. So far so good?!

I have mixed results, sometime Pro Tools stops responding, and oddly it is more stable if I don't run pro tools as administrator
So I'm stuck, this is my 1st PC so I started with Win10
I'm coming from a Mac system so I'm somewhat frustrated, but hopefully Avid will support Win 10 or I might go Hackintosh
