Exactly. And don't be afraid to mix tool usage. I know I did with the vinyl restoration. Soundsoap and Sony Soundforge were used in varying combinations as no one tool would do it all.

There have been times where the de-noiser didn't quite do it for me. My need for it greatly decreased recently by getting rid of a problem machine. Still, a possible augmentation on the noise repair front for short money would be worth it if only using it a few times a year.

Speaking of noise repair, I did pick up a Waves plug last month. $29. NS1. Kind of a does one thing plug, and then works once every few times on top of that. It's like a crap shoot. If it doesn't work, roll again, except that we change the dice for the next roll.
