Default Freebies - 64bit AAX

Has there been any news on whether or not some of the recent RTAS & 32bit AAX plugins, that were offered for free by some vendors, are being ported to 64bit?

Most of the vendors have stated that their plugins will be ported to 64bit AAX, but no mention of the freebies, as far as I'm aware.

In particular I'm thinking :

SoundToys - Little Radiator (RTAS)

SoundToys - Little MicroShift (RTAS)

Native Instruments - Driver (RTAS / 32bit AAX)

Fxpansion - DCAM FreeComp (RTAS)

Softube - Saturation Knob (32bit AAX)

Flux - Bittersweet (RTAS)

Don't forget Metric Halo Thump (32-bit AAX).

NI Driver is not free; it now costs $49 US

According to the AAX plugin database at Pro Tools Expert at: http://www.pro-tools-expert.com/aax-database/

the fxpansion freebies won't be ported.

It looks like the Softube Saturation knob will be ported (same source as above). Ditto for Soundtoys and Flux Bittersweet.

Soundtoys made a statement about AAX and 64-bit, pro-tools-expert blog wrote a quick article on that which included Soundtoys statement. Mac versions would be released first and there are current beta version for 2? of the plugins available to registered users. So in the future we will see all of Soundtoys plugs ported to AAX/64-bit

Yeah, I was just selfishly focusing on the ones I actually use

Yeah, but where does that leave those of us jammy enough to blag it for free?

Presumably we could get the AAX 64bit version, but they may only offer non-paying customers a discount???

I was aware that Fxpansion wouldn't be porting older freebies / OEM's etc, like Orca, BFD-Lite, VST wrapper. But I've heard nothing either way about DCAM FreeComp, which is only a few months old.

I'm aware that they're porting their range of plugins, but again, I haven't heard anything specific about Little Radiator, or Little MicroShift.

It'd be great if those are still available to us, but I wouldn't be too shocked if it's just the full, paid versions that get ported...

Fingers crossed.

Did that include the freebies?

Obviously the full versions of Radiator etc are being ported, but I hadn't heard anything specific about the free versions.

Just got the newsletter from soundtoys right now:

"Pro Tools and AAX
With the recent announcement of the pending release of Pro Tools 11 a lot of questions about AAX are popping up, so here's the scoop from our side. We're deep in development for AAX native and hope to get it into a public beta soon. Our goal is to have a solid official release before Pro Tools 11 hits the streets"

So I think that would mean that the freebies would also be included.

I would think NI people who currently have the free Driver would get the updated one as the free one is the same thing as the paying plugin. It's just that NI did that as a limited time introduction thing.

As far as fxpansion - why not ask them? Or post in their forum?

If you look at the list for Soundtoys on the page I linked to it says the full line is being update with a TBA full release date. They don't even have a public beta yet.

That sounds too much like a sensible idea, and besides having an aversion to those, I have an even bigger aversion to forums - the DUC is literally the only online forum I frequent (no twitter / no facebook etc).

Again, we live in hope - though I wouldn't be too shocked if the appetisers don't make the cut.
