Lenovo is a Chinese multinational company based in Hong Kong. They purchased the PC division of IBM in the early 90's. Personally I wouldn't go near them for a whole host of reasons not germane here.

Your audio sessions need to be on the fast drives. It doesn't hurt to have PT / plugins / samples on there too, but the audio sessions absolutely need at least a 7200rpm drive, and much preferred an ssd (even a "slow" sata3 ssd can handle a good number of audio tracks, especially if connected by usb3 or thunderbolt).

Perhaps do a search on best laptops for DAW recording and see what pops.

Lenovo would be the only non-apple brand I would even consider buying, for what it is worth.

Wasn’t Lenovo caught installing malware/spyware on their Think range of laptops a few years back?

Cool. So if I can’t service my own car I shouldn’t be allowed to buy a car either? FFS man.

IIRC, they were doing stuff to the BIOS that allowed apps to continue to be installed even after a wipe of the HD. My memory is a bit vague as it was a while ago, but it didn’t sound great.

You’re free to do what you like, but it raised a fair few red flags in the PC world when it came about.

Perhaps you are referring to hardware problems any Intel processor has, which is why Apple is making a good move to own processors.

You can only control what you make yourself.

Default CPU error 9173

No. This has nothing to do with CPUs or Apple.

Like I said, my memory is vague as it was a few years back. A quick Google search pulled up a fair bit of info on it, such as the following.

I remember that all those years ago when I still ran Windows systems here. It's just one of many things that made me swear off PC's for good (or bad). Good dig of info Sardi.
