Really not sure their goal was to take away VCAs from native users... It's an unfortunate bug that will get fixed, they're well aware of it by now.

Here's the response I received from AVID Customer Care yesterday:

"Thank you for reporting the VCA problem in Pro Tools 12.8.2. We have logged a defect/bug which has a possible fix (pending further verification). For your reference the bug number is PT-234549. "

So, they're definitely on it and taking it seriously.

In the middle of a session and Avid kills my VCAs with the update to 12.8.2 SERIOUSLY AVID!?!? WOW! This company is just literally driving people to other DAWs! This isn't something that ANY working producer/mixer can simply wait on a new release for. And tell me how they release a piece of software with this kind of an oversight? Why hasn't Avid acknowledged their SNAFU to the public yet and made an announcement that they will be fixing it ASAP? I would just like to know how a company that is already under such scrutiny misses things like this? I mean they know they are under a microscope and that many people are leaving for other DAWs right? Do they care?
