Default Having Headphone Monitoring Problems

Here's my set up. I have a Mbox and have a pair monitors coming out of the line outputs. My line output gain control affects my headphone gain control. Like my monitors have to be on to hear stuff out of my headphones. Is this normal? My monitors can't be turned down and just monitor out of my headphones. When doin latenite editing. My connection from the MBox to monitors is a 1/4 inch to male XLR. Am I doin some thing wrong? Is this normal. Do I have busted MBox? Or am I just really stupid?

Could Somebody Please Help Me Out.

Thank You

Nobody is having the same problem. There no way of me just turning mix knob to input and just turn up my my headphone gain. Is this a software problem or a hardware problem with my Mbox. Would the new Digi CoreAudio fix my problem.

Please somebody help me out this really frustrating.

Thank You

that's not a line output gain control you're referring to. It's a mix control to blend playback from PT and signal from the preamps. This is not bug, no matter how frustrating it is for you. I'd say you have 2 alternatives:

1. turn off your monitors when you want to work in your headphones exclusively.

2. Get a device that can control monitors and headphones in a more elaborate way than the mbox. The PreSonus HP4 would do what you're looking for. Check it out.

Have fun.
