Default Any possibility for showing Quicktime video in First?

Would be nice to use for beginners in sound for television if you can link to video, is that going to be an option?

Unhappy Re: Any possibility for showing Quicktime video in First?

If the point with first is to get beginners to use it, it would be a point to make quicklime video playback available for all the adobe and Final Cut users out there who wants proper sound on their movies? but it seems it´s only for the music geeks I suppose.

I have no idea if PT First can output MTC, but in the old-days (PT LE without DVTK) we used TC sync-able QT players to slave the video. There are some of these on the market. Set Grid/Nudge to 40ms for 25fps picture and you almost have a SMPTE ruler.

I remember quite well when a Digidesign rep told me "There will never be SMPTE in PT LE". This was six month before the first DVTK came out.

$600? I wish! I remember it more in the range of $1400. All I'm saying to the OP is that these statements should be taken with a grain of salt. Today, Avid's product policy is more unpredictable then ever. Who says that they won't offer video as an additional upgrade function just like the plug-ins.
