The AAX DSP in the box is for "real time" plugins...it really has nothing to do with Pro Tools per se, although I'm sure the DSP will be made available to Pro Tools just as the DSP on the AAX cards is made available.

But, I'm extremely sure that you will connect to it with the same Pro Tools HD version/edition that is used to connect to HDX systems. Which means that you could run the same AAX native plugins as you could in the "normal" Pro Tools HD software.

And as I noted in my other post to you (just above this one) it will be quite feasible to run Waves DSP plugins through a Pro Tools native plugin interface.
