vocal tracking with art mpa pro

Hey,
Does anyone have any good tips for tracking vocals into PTLE using the ART MPA Pro MicPre like settings on the pre, plugs in protools, etc. cause in my opinion, there's virtuallly no difference in the sound when using the MPA, so I'm assuming I'm not doing something right.

Any help would be great.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Compared to what? The Digi 001 pres? I've got good results with the Pro MPA.....it's a huge improvement over the Digi Pres. What I do is set the Input sensitivity in PT to -10db ( Adjust it under Setups/ Hardware/Other Options) I recently bought a Universal Audio 6176 channel strip, it sounds best with the Input set to +4 db, the normal way I guess..Anyway, for some reason it's a lot better with the +10 db setting for the MPA, on the preamp itself I push in the +20db button and stay with a lower output setting although this is obviously a matter of the mic, voice level etc.
I usually record vocals with a AKG C-414 , as for plug-ins, I'm totally sold on the McDSP Filterbank, the 'normal' procedure for me is cutting the lower mids (150-200k) to decrease the boominess and I also often add some shelving EQ at 5-8k to add presence....
