Default UAD Open Letter to Users

Just received an email from UAD which contains the following:

"Looking forward, one increasingly common request is for UAD plug-ins to become fully 64-bit compliant. Rest assured, the UAD plug-in transition to 64-bit architecture will be completed in 2012.

This 64-bit compatibility will come at no cost to our users. You have chosen to support us, and we will support you as audio processing standards evolve."

Not only do their plugins sound great, they also realise the importance of a happy user base!!! Listen up Avid!!!

Cool...very cool and very fair. I am a (happy) UAD user, too so I'm really looking forward to that move.

Wasn't Avid's statement when HDX/AAX was "launched" pretty much the same? These technologies were introduced with 64-bit in mind if I understood correctly and since PT10 will be the last to support TDM tech I guess it's kind of a natural assumption that PT11 will be 64-bit.

In fact I would almost bet that Avid decided for the 32bit PT10/TDM and 64bit PT11/AAX quite some time ago and that the majority of major plug-in players are aware of this same strategy, too and have been given time to prepare their products for the 64-bit environment.

Yeah I know what you mean. And I do agree with you on that, of course!
