Anybody seen any good plays, opera\'s, or symphonies lately?
I just got back from the world premiere of Adoration of an Old Woman in the La Jolla PLay Forum... I was not very impressed. I actually found it really vulgar. It was written by a Peurto Rican guy that is sick of being part of America. I found the play to be a little redundant to everything else in the world that has to do with the never-ending racial/cultural battle that is always going on. Id say %60 of the audience left after the intermission. Obviously didnt look to good for the play.
San Diego Symphony is playing next month, and I am really looking forward to that. I was wondering if anyone else has seen any of the performing arts lately? (Excluding concerts) Thanks, =-Ben

Les Miserables just rolled threw my town not to long ago, I went to see it. I loved it but thats kinda to be expected from a broadway musical. Except that eponine was like 13 and cossete seemed to be 20, that was kinda weird, oh well It worked. I liked it and my friend who had never seen a musical before ran out right away and bought a cd set. It was nice.

Speaking of Les Mis, I'm going to see it in London in less than three weeks (waiting for tickets to go on sale...). I've never seen Les Mis before and I've never been to London, so it should be a treat.

I saw 'The Lion King' a couple of weeks ago, and the costumes and music blew my mind. I absolutely love the african rhythms and melodies. All that percussion and harmony kept me glued for two hours.
Loved it... |

A few weeks ago I saw "Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk". I actually ended up with Front Row tickets.
Incredible rythms and tap. They had two incredible drummers in addition to the band in the orchastra pit. Paul

A couple of months ago we saw the 'Farewell' performance of the San Jose Symphony Orchestra. They've gone bankrupt and had to disband.
They ended the show with Stravinski's Firebird Suite. One can only hope... |
