Pro tools 10.3 not working with Mac OS X 10.8!
So I got a Pro Tools 10 upgrade finally after a couple of years with PT 7 LE. I was so excited to boot it up and start recording all the new material I have. Problem is, I have been experiencing nothing but problems since I booted it up. Which was a week ago. I was able to record one guitar track and bounce it to a disk no problem. But after that I have been experiencing -6 playback errors, odd fuzziness and crackling noise when recording playing back, my I/O settings seem to have a mind of their own when it come to switching between my laptop and my mbox 2. So my brand new PT 10 upgrade is virtually useless. I can't spend more than a few seconds without running into a debilitating error. Would it be a wise option to possibly uninstall and reinstall PT to correct these issues? I can't help but think how it was that I was able to record that single guitar track at first with no issues. I'm calling Avid in a minute, but I'm not expecting much help.

Need more info - like what Mac are you running on, did the computer have ML already on it, amount of ram, cpu, etc.

No worries. I called Avid and got it fixed. Turns out, mbox 2 doesn't mix with 3.0 USB ports. Got a 2.0 USB hub and voila, it's working fine. Thanks for the reply!

But if your computer has USB 3 ports and you're connecting the hub to that then it's still running off that USB 3 connectivity.

Why else can I do? The technician at Avid told me that it should work, and so far it is. Is there something else I can do that would be a better fix?

Can't answer that because you never posted what Mac you have, what hub you are using, what version of OSX, etc. It might also be helpful if you have any other things connected to the USB3 ports that do work.
