HELP - Need to make a metronome that sounds \'nice\'
Hi,
I need to make a "girlfriend friendly" metronome. My girlfriend sing/guitarist hates those electronic ticks/beeps so would like a metronome sound more like a hi-hat or drum hit or something. How can I do this in PTF, I've tried looping a sample but I can't get it to loop at all let alone in time with PTF's metronome, which I can't seem to get to work either !! HELP ! thanks muchly, earthfloor. |

Re: HELP - Need to make a metronome that sounds \'n
Some searching in this forum should turn up some threads on how to set up a click in PTF using QuickTime instruments. I've done it myself, but it's been a while so I'd have to look it up to explain it. I hate click tracks period.

You could use something like Sampletank Free with a midi track. You'll have a consistent latency (the clicks will not be precisely on the beat) but that may not matter to her.
I don't know if there's a decent closed hihat sound with Sampletank Free, but it's worth a shot. |

Re: HELP - Need to make a metronome that sounds \'n
Thanks M.
Err, I looked at the thread and tried what was suggested there, but in PTF under the Setups menu, I have OMS MIDI Setup or OMS Studio Setup, neither of which showed quicktime as an option. Would I be right in thinking I need to install the QuickTime MIDI instruments ?? I have the Quicktime player installed but I guess that's no good. Thanks very much, Earthfloor. |

Yes you need to have QuickTime Instruments loaded in your extensions folder to use 'em.

Yes. Also check in the QuickTime folder in the extensions folder for the QuickTime Music extension.
You may also need to trash your OMS preferences, and go through the OMS setup again. |
