Default AutoBackUp Issues

Hi,

after working with Pro Tools 10, on a Windows 7 64-Bit PC, a while and slowly diving more into all the functions I want to get rid of some problems.

I have some projects where I get an Error Message that Pro Tools wasn't able to do an AutoBackup.
Mostly that are Projects which have a pretty deep Folder Structure and longer Folder names. I like to have all my Stuff clearly labeled and named and a little structured.

The last Project I had that Problem there were the Ptx File in the 6th Folder (Depth) on the Drive and the longest Name for a Folder were 55 Letters.
Some of the Project Files (ptx) are also that long.

Does anybody know how can I get around that Problem. It didn't bother me much until a few days as I didn't always Save by Hand and due to a Freeze I lost an hour of work for drum Editing.

Sorry if my English isn't that good and well explained. Would be easier in German for me.

Heavy Greetz

Read that link and post a Sandra report. Without that level of detail, its impossible to diagnose your system. I have had Auto-backup on since it was first added and have never had an issue with it(and I am mighty thankful for it)

IIRC there have been issues with too long names and too long file paths. Try shortening both.

Cheers,

My Pro Tools 10.3.8 is located on my Main Drive (a SSD) and I record on a different Harddrive (SATA).

I couldn't read all the Error Messages I get from Pro Tools completely cause I set my Fontsize to 125% cause I don't like that small Icons. I think that's why Pro Tools fails to give me completely Message Boxes.

Best Regards.
