Default Automation problem

Hi,

I have a weird problem.

I set volume automation, but it is not changed at all.

I mean, for example, I set +12dB at the specific spot on the track, but the sound doesn't come out that much louder from my speakers.

I can see the automation works in PT, but I cannot hear any difference of volume.

Of course, I checked my speakers and reset, but it didn't solve the problem.

What should I do?

It's my first time to have this kind of problem.

I heard that it can be solved by removing a file at preference, but I don't know what file it is.

Anyway, help me guys!

Thanks!

Hi,

Under the window menu you will see the automation window. (also pressing apple+4 will bring it up) do you have volume hi-lighted? it should be a white background with volume written in red. (If its grey, then its turned off)

you can see you're fader jump or you just see the auto line in your edit Screen?
you might have your auto suspended.

Now, I'm not in my office, so I'll try that later.

Thank you so much, Chris!

This will only effect the system's ability to write automation in realtime. It will not effect whether automation can be created graphically or whether it will playback regardless of how it was created.

If the fader is moving and there is no change in the output volume, you are either listening to something other than the track you're automating or the track is hitting some sort of brickwall limiter. Is this happening on all of the tracks in your session or is it only a specific track?
