Axiom 49 not recognized when I upgraded to PT 8.0.3

Hi,
I was using my Axiom 49 with PT 8.0.1 fine. Over the weekend, I upgraded to PT 8.0.3 - and now, PT does not recognize my M-Audio Axiom 49. I've looked for something to uninstall / reinstall - but am not sure if that is the right path.

try going to

setup > peripharals > machine control > tick the slave box

then go to

midi controllers tab

and see if you can select the keyboard in the 3 drop down menus

Do you see the Axiom Pro in Audio MIDI Setup? Is it greyed out?

The slave box is checked.

The Axiom does appear in the midi drop down menu - so, I don't believe that is the issue.



I have the Axiom 49 pluged into my pc through a USB connection (no MIDI connection through my 003 rack). Again, in PT 8.0.1, this worked fine.

When I look at the midi controllers tab, the Axiom 49 is listed. If I pick it from the drop down menu, it asks me to pick a 'receive from' field - - where it shows the MIDI input from my 003 rack. I'm guessing that means it is expecting me to connect my Axiom through the MIDI port in my rack 003??

The reason I am questioning this is because it was working through the USB connection with the earlier version. Also, the Guitar Center kid said that it should work through the USB (and he's always right ). I also know that the Axiom is getting power from the USB . . . .

Hmmm strange - i use that version of protools and the same controller and have no problems

Maybe try reinstalling the drivers for the controller and see if it sorts itself out

Failing that, i am clueless!

I uninstalled / reinstalled everything & it is now working.

I'm sure this is related to the PT upgrade . . . but, I'm glad it's working again.
