Guitardom is right about that thunderbolt 3 type c to FireWire adapter, there is none. I have since purchased a new FireWire card with TI chipset so for the time being I will be using my FireWire Safire Pro40 interface, until the USB 3.0 interfaces get more reliable drivers.

Again, my apologies for the confusion. Quote from and earlier post in this thread.
I know exactly which card you have. Again, pull it out of the box and look at it. It has a jumper cable that you plug in the top of the card the other end goes to the motherboard. It is a PCIe card, but it requires another connection along with it as well and is Asus specific and only with specific motherboards. Again, Thunderbolt capabilities are built into the CPU. There are absolutely NO Thunderbolt pcie cards that can be used on any system.

You can use Firewire just fine with Thunderbolt 3, it just requires 3 adapters, Type C to Thunderbolt 2, Thunderbolt 2 to Fw800, Fw800 to FW400. You just have to have a Thunderbolt 3 capable system, which you are not going to get from AMD.

But it won't work. The only thing I've heard these will actually do anything for is connecting old cameras to transfer data. Your audio interface drivers won't be looking on the USB bus for the interface and will just not see it.

I'm gonna wait on the USB 3.1 port until they actually make something viable for it. Thank you for showing me my mistake on the thunderbolt card Guitardom and others. Didn't mean to disregard your advice, just didn't see the header cable on the card in the picture that you were mentioning, now I know. Firewire will be what I'm using till I'm ready to upgrade, but I'll still be using the Ryzen CPU. The cost for performance is too low to pass up. I don't feel like waiting for the six core chips to come out, so I preordered the 1700 8 core at 3ghz and the Asus Prime X370-Pro mobo. I'll let you know how it works out, but will more than likely be asking about windows 10 optimizations on the other forums. Thanks again.
