Default Why does my fades disappear?

Well?
Is there a reason for this happening quite often when I open a PT session?

I know that I can just click "skip" and the fades will be rebuild automatically, but I’ curious.

Brent?

In short, I'm not sure why this happens, when everythingin the system remains constant. However, here are some theories:

-Perhaps a particular fade file is corrupt...when you click "skip all fades" Pro Tools will only rebuild fades that it can't find.

-This can happen if you copy your session folder to a new location or are trying to open up a different copy of the session.

-Corrupt session. Create a New Session and use the File>Import Tracks command to move the data.

-Mac OS issues. Rebuild the Desktop File and scan your drives with a drive utility like Disk Warrior...repair any corrupted B-Tree directories.

Last but not least, corrupt preferences. Trash the Pro Tools preferences and DAE prefs (the entire folder) from the System Folder>Preferences folder. Empty the Trash and relaunch Pro Tools.
