Basically once you move the knob from very slow (20 degrees per second) it switches from one value per tick to the new slider settings, these can be the same as the very slow setting so yes it would be fine no matter how fast you turn the knob but it can also be set much faster (i.e. 1 degree of knob turn jumps 4 values). The acceleration is then the time between the lowest speed and the highest speed setting, this can be set to 0 so there is no ramp between them....good for Pan for example.
The plugins themselves give the surface the resolution of each knob so that's how different function types behave differently, eg. Pan Left to Right is only 200 ticks, where as Frequency (once fixed) will be 1024 ticks(or more)

You are right though, you have to play with it to see(feel) how it works.

P.S. All this is because on a digital console we use continuous encoders that only give out a certain amount of ticks per revolution, this then has to be translated into usable data for it to work correctly. For an analog console you just change the value of the Pots and underlying circuits.

Just out of curiosity Eddie, will this also be implemented with S3? I agree with Postman on a modifier being a good idea. However the knob velocity function might work just fine.

Yes, I hope this isn't too far off topic but I've tried to use a knob to pan with onscreen action. The action dictates how fast to turn the knob and if you hit that threshold, WHOOSH the panner flies away. It can be a hopeless exercise!

Similar trouble with verb sends and frankly any other moving parameter. Maybe between v2 settings and FADER FLIP (please oh please oh please) these annoyances will settle down. Oh, and a panner stick. Like a fader, it has physical limits that map to the parameter's physical limits. No accelerator. Me likey.

Thank you Eddie for participating! Really great to have you around.

The resolution will make it into other EUCON products yes. The acceleration is a surface feature and done differently so not sure.

Yes totally agree which is exactly why we are adding these prefs in. It fixes it. and the next beta of v2.0 will have Flip in which means it will make the release ;-)

Unfortunately the quick hack didn't work for the higher resolution Freq Controls, but the good news is we found a way that Eucon can do all knobs better not just the Frequency. Its in the PT adapter though so will try and get into a PT release as soon as possible.

As this is technically a bug and not desirable we will do what we can to put it in PT 11. I can't promise anything though until we get into it and see where in the code the fix will go.
