Default W7 Mbox 2 DIGI 003 + PRO TOOLS 10 = HELL ON EARTH

Hey first off if anyone important at avid is reading this I want you to know you have made my life a living hell. I used to have pro tools 8 with my windows xp 32 bit i7 build and it worked amazing! At 64 buffer i was running a million plugins!! And still recording at that! I moved of to windows 7 64bit and i want to kill myself. I've built two i7 rigs and both have yet to flawlessly work with protools 8 9 or 10. I started off with my mbox 2, you guys say it's "compatible" so I installed all the new drivers and a clean install of pro tools well, it freezes on start up, has trouble "locating hardware" and BSOD's my computer to sleep. So I threw my mbox2 piece of [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] out of my four story apartment building. then I try my 003 which I have plugged into my "compatible" pcie FireWire card that I bought so it could work properly. And the same thing happens freezes on startup. My buffer size can't go down to 64 anymore with getting hell of dae errors!!!! I just want to make music!!! can someone please just tell me what I should do?? I don't want to post a stupid Sandra report I've read EVERY thread in these forums!!! I have yet to see anyone's problems SOLVED!!!! So what's going on? Should I call avid tech support? Is there such thing? do I have to pay 30 dollars a hour so you guys can [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]ing help me fix YOUR PROGRAM? Should I have bought a HP or a DELL? That's "compatible"? What does "compatible" mean to AVID? Fml..... Someone please give me some answers!!!!!

A Sandra report contains critically pertinent info on your system. Asking someone to tell you what you need to do without it is not very helpful.

You might try checking to see if you are using the legacy driver for your "compatible" pcie firewire card. Win 7 does not play with firewire as nicely as XP, the legacy driver helps greatly. I am running an 003r with PT 10 and Win 7 64bit with no problems at all, down to 64 on the buffer settings.

BTW, I would have given you at least 20 bucks for the mbox 2 before you chucked it out the window.....

Massive chokepoint. Integrated Graphics are not, and have never been qualified for use with Pro Tools. It's also a puny 64MB, memory hogging hub that is a blight more than anything else. This is just about the number one cause of issues with Pro Tools. You need a dedicated graphics card.

Don't mess around with legacy drivers... get a modern FW card with a TI chipset.

Have you tried swapping FW cables? Have you tried plugging it into another system to make sure it isn't the 003 itself? Is your FW card a Texas Instruments chipset?

Did you check the Device Manager to make sure there is no issues after you installed the Graphics Card?
