Default Converting Video file for Pro tools

Hi,

A friend of mine just finished a video art project and wishes me to add some music and sound effects.

I am rather new to pro tools and definately new to video sound editting.

The first step is to manage and load the video file into pro tools.

The File is Mpeg video file and pro tools require a quicktime movie if i am not mistaken.

Can you please suggest ways to perform the conversion?

Thanks,
Lucas

Thanks for the replies guys..

I think i'll try the Quicktime pro as my friend is in another country and it will take longer to tell him export the Video in MOV file.
I am also 100% sure that the file he would send me would not work as i read somewhere that pro tools need a specific mov decoder.
Anyway, time for research

Once again Thanks!
