Default Hot Swapping Fw Interfaces on Macbook? 002, 003, fw410/ 1814

Hi

Can we or can't we hotswap a Digi 002, 003, maudio fw410 or 1814?

i'm told if it's bus powered we cant.

anybody know?

As far as I know, hot swapping is not recommended for any firewire device. It says not to do iton my firewire 410 and on my camcorder.
