Task Window?

I just upgraded to PT 8 and so far I love it. Lots of great new stuff. The only thing I'm confused about is this Task Window that opens whenever I open a file. There doesn't seem to be any mention of it in the "What's New in PT 8" document. Anyone know what it is and how to use it?

Do you mean whenever you open a Session? If so can you see it running any processes like finding missing audio files?

Hi,

It appears when I open a session and is there until I close the session, just floating around. It has nothing in it, I'm not sure what it's for. I'm at work now, but when I get home tonight I can probably check it out and give you more info. It's not really a problem, it's just kind of funny in that I don't know what it's for. Before PT 8, when I opened a session my track and transport window would open and maybe whatever plug in inserts I might have had open previously. But this new window is a mystery.

The Task window has been around for several versions now, it's not new to PT8. It usually opens when PT can't find audio files or fades for whatever session you just opened and you'll see it working on trying to relink or recreate whatever is missing. If it's just sitting there doing nothing, you can close it.
