Pro Tools 11.3.1 crashing on recording

Hello forum friends,

literally chewing my nails down to the bone of my fingers in despair.Ive always been pleased about the the stability and reliability of my modest set up and basically over the years Ive had no problems, however in less than a week I now have a situation where by at the very moment I enable record and press play, PT is quitting.It runs perfectly normal before then,but its at the very moment I attempt to record.Ive also tried it without the interface,monitoring with the built in microphone on the mac into a PT track and again the very moment I press play,it crashes.Ive tried a new session from nothing and it crashes sometimes before even setting up a new track and recording,but mainly at the point of recording within a new session.Please could someone offer me some help ? thank you in advance

I apologise if I gave to much info just an update Ive uninstalled PT 11.3.1 and Ive loaded PT 10 and have no problems recording,checked IO and used same settings back in 11,still did not record in 11.OS is OS X 10.9.5
