Default Projects being held hostage in the cloud.

Is anyone else having issues when using the collaboration feature?

It seems that more times than not, I can't open projects that I'm working on when collaborating. Sometimes I have to wait hours (or even days) for the projects to open from the cloud. All my local stuff works fine. I have 1 gig up/1 gig down Internet speeds so I know it's not that.

I pay extra for more cloud space, and would expect a lot more from AVID. This is extremely frustrating.

I have no experience with Cloud Collaboration, but you should probably open a support case.

Which internet provider is giving you 1GB up/down?

Definitely open a support case, but also I find that simply logging out of my Avid account from within Pro Tools, closing PT, start PT again and sign back in can sometimes cure some of the cloud hang ups.
Give it a try the next time things are slow to open and see if it helps.

Likely gigabit, not Gigabyte, and a not unusual claim for fiber to building/home fast broadband today. Like in the USA Verizon FIOS (who claim up to 940 Mbps down / 880 Mbps up). But then the USA lags many countries with connectivity. And what you performance you actually get to the other end of a service, and what any client software can actually use... who knows.

But network services provider data connection speeds are likely irrelevant here (assuming the service is up and working). Cloud Collaboration has been a huge frigging mess. Just look at all the posts on DUC. I would not trust it at all for actual work. My respect to anybody who realizes how bad it's been and who who carefully playing with it to see if it's getting better. Trusting it for actual work, oy vey.

Damn.
I always try to remind myself...

There is no such thing as the cloud. It's just someone else's hard drive.

Good luck

Why are you asking? DUC is full of posts you can just search.

A smorgasbord of horrors:

google: cloud collaboration "problem" site:duc.avid.com
Gives 803 results

google: cloud collaboration site:duc.avid.com
Gives 1,430 results

google: "pro tools" first "project" site:duc.avid.com
Gives 13,900 results (hint not many of those are saying nice things about cloud).

google: "pro tools" "project" site:duc.avid.com
Gives 27,100 results (ditto)
