Default Monitors, Strip or Control Surface?

I currently have an NTK, an NT1a, a Mindprint DI-Port, and an AMIII card. I have a bit of spare cash and I'm thinking about what to get next...

- a pair of nearfield monitors (I'm using Spendor S100s on the end of my hifi at the moment). I'm thinking TR5s, M1s or RP5s.

- a channel strip (I record mainly classical guitar and vocals: the comp would be useful??) - TL Audio 5051???

- I also fancy the moving faders on the Behringer B-control (if they work with PT...)

So what should be at the top of my list?

TIA

Go for the channel strip. You only live once.

Nah, go for the monitors. What's the point of comp if you can't hear the results?

Just MHO.

Audio monitors are the link between you and what you record. Wihtout good accurate monitors in a properly tuned room, you will be constantly fighting the acoustics of physics.

Monitors and converters are IMHO the two most important ingrediats in your gear.

Thanks for the replies. Even though I fancied the cool faders and shiny lights and purposeful knobs (oo-er) of the others, I guess I'll probably get some monitors. I wonder which of the above work well at low volumes...

Thanks again!
