Default Roland Edirol PCR-300 configuration with Mbox2

I just got my first real midi keyboard controller and I am confused as to how to connect and configure it in PTLE.

I am using the USB on the Edirol PCR-300 for power. There is also editor software for control map transfers through the PC.

Anyone else using one of these with the Mbox2?

Do I need to connect the midi cables to the Mbox2 also or do I just use the PCR-300's driver?

How should I configure the PCR-300 in Midi Studio and in the Peripherals setups?

Once I know that I have the connections and configuration correct, then I can worry about importing control maps for PT, Reason, and SampleTank.

Thanks,

You don't have to connect the keyboard to the Mbox2 via midi because the keyboard is connected through USB. I know on the mac, pro tools LE 7.3.1, go to Setup menu/MIDI/Input Devices and enable your keyboard. Put a check in the box to enable it.

Here's the Audio MIDI Setup I used back when I had a PCR-M30...

Not sure how similar it is to the PCR-300? I remember it being very confusing at first.

Hope that helps.

I have been able to get connected through USB. I am not using the MIDI cables at all. I couldn't get it set up as HUI under Peripherals though.

I am having success mapping controls through Reason Adapted and SampleTank2. Are there any CC mappings for Digi plug-ins?

Only on instruments, such as Xpand, Hybrid, Structure, and the percussion mangler, Synchronic.

For everything else, it's HUI
