Default Monitor Controllers

Who uses what? And what's good about your setup?

I am looking to incorporate my 2 monitors via a switch instead of my patchbay

My omni purchase didn't go thru so I am thing about something like this....it's really cheap and from a decent company

http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/r...2#.V7ADl8Q8KnM

Does anyone use this?

It makes headphone monitoring much much more like listening to real speakers, so yeah, I do like it a lot. Depending on your monitors and headphones, though, any crossfeed setting doesn't tell you anything. You always need to A/B monitors and headphones and eventually you have a setting that matches the monitors pretty closely.

I saw those, did that company buy JBL's version or the other way around?

Harman bought SM Pro Audio last year so a JBL branded one can't be but a year old. I've had mine about 3 years.

Using Omni here via SPDIF from RME 9652 card, also have HD4 TDM rig. I've bought 2 Omnis from Alto Music's EBay store for $1k each; One was NIB, one slightly used.

Presonus Central Station here. Maybe overkill for you at the moment, but it allows me to select between 2 sets of mains, with or without sub. Plus I can listen to Pro Tools audio, computer audio(on optical SPDIF), a second workstation(on RCA SPDIF) or an iPhone/iPad(with a mini TRS cable hanging on the side my my rack). I also have it "tricked" into running another set of speakers that can either be the main signal, or a separate output from any of the above

as for talkback, I quit using the Presonus for headphones and now use the Mute-o-matic plugin on some AUX tracks with talkback mics in the CR, the drum room and the main room(all Crown PCC-160 boundry mics)

Default Monitor Controllers

I was really impressed with the sound quality of the omni headphone amp

But after buying two of them and having to return both, I put the purchase on hold, I have been super busy with other work-related things so I haven't wanted to mess with another one....i saw the JBL while waiting on a plane Friday and it seemed like a cool little box...... which is why I was asking you all...
