Default I know this has been asked before but I don't see solutions

No changes to any preferences or settings were made with either PT(10) or Reason(5) and I started up a new project and recorded midi notes are duplicated. One longer (the duration I recorded) and one very short maybe a 32nd or 64th note long stacked at the beginning of each note I record. I use an axiom 25 (first gen). I am a hobbyist with this and do not understand a lot about midi. Can someone please help me?

Try putting the MIDI input to the track on a single midi channel instead of being on omni.

Could be MIDI echo; if you are using standard 5 pin MIDI connections (the round connectors) and have connections for both send and receive MIDI from your computer remove the cable that sends MIDI from the computer to the keyboard. You only need MIDI out from the keyboard to MIDI in on the computer.

Sorry but you're going to have to learn some basic MIDI stuff along with basic stuff as to how things work in PT. PT is not plug and play and the learning curve can be steep but not insurmountable. The PT101 courseware book might help you along with a book on MIDI.

Either set the Axiom to transmit on one channel instead of omni, or set the midi or instrument track to receive one midi channel instead of all 16. The midi input to the track in Pro Tools is probably set to All. Change it to predefined>Axiom>Port 1>Channel 1.

Edit: Also, change the Axiom to output Midi on channel 1. Press the global channel button and enter 01.
