Default New Presonus Interfaces at Namm

These were just announced and looked interesting. They are affordable, and USB based (they're ditching firewire like many others), but with very low latency and they include some of the features of their Studiolive mixers.

Here is a thread on Gearslutz with info and pictures:

They also have detailed specs on the Presonus website.

Just thought I'd point these out as yet another option for Protools users. I'm glad that companies are really stepping up with affordable interfaces with innovative features.

Well, I wouldn't call it "ditching" firewire... Seems like more of a sacrifice to me. All the monitoring and effects are done on your computer, so no DSP makes me skeptical of how low the latency is, or how good the effects are. They are also maxed out at 96k, and have pretty low price points that just scream "cheap" to me.

Good deal for entry level stuff, but I can't imagine any of it sounds that great or provides as low latency monitoring as a good FW interface. I'll keep my LS56 thanks.

We will see. Historically Presonus gear has been better than Digi top LE gear!
